Music
At King’s Oak Academy, we believe in the power of music to transport children and lift everyone’s spirits. Throughout the year music forms an important part our significant celebrations and special events such as for our summer picnic, Year 2 leaver’s assembly, Harvest and Christmas to name but a few.
To enhance our learning in music, we are using Sing Up which is a wonderful resource to help make our singing assemblies more exciting and fun. Additionally, we now use Charanga, a recommended Norfolk Music specialist resource, to deliver the new national curriculum for music. We are already seeing the children engaging in a variety of music genre from traditional harvest songs to reggae at our recent Diamond Jubilee celebration!
We encourage the children to continue their love of music through our recorder after school club. This is open to our Year 2 pupils but has been so successful our previous pupils who are now year 3 have continued for another year.
